Drummer From Another Mother (DFAM) is a highly interactive, semi-modular analog percussion synthesizer and a dynamic alternative to traditional drum machines. DFAM is the perfect complement to the MOOG semi-modular family for creating percussive patterns. DFAM requires no patching and absolutely no prior knowledge, allowing people of all ages to quickly get started synthesizing unique new rhythm compositions. The DFAM's powerful sound is enabled by an easy-to-use analog sequencer and begins with a white noise generator and two wide-frequency range analog oscillators. The oscillators' Hard Sync function and cross FM modulation allow seamless transitions between rhythmic pulses, thumping bass and resonant sounds in the blink of an eye. The DFAM's distinctive voice is shaped by a versatile Moog Ladder filter with two selectable modes: low-pass mode gives plenty of weight and dimension to the sound, while high-pass mode opens the door to naturally expressive hits, peaks and jangling accents.
